The 2009 RCMP Klondike Night was all about breaking records!
On February 27, 2009 approximately 1200 people descending upon the RCMP headquarters in St. John's for the 16th Annual RCMP Klondike Night. Guests were treated to a great evening with live music, a delicious buffett including moose, caribou, trout and more, a silent auction featuring artwork from some of Newfoundland and Labrador's finest talents and a huge gambling casino with blackjack tables, spin wheels and of course all the fun of a wild west themed prospecting party.
Over $80,000 was raised for the K-Rock Children's Trust Fund and the Newfoundland and Labrador Brain Injury Association.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all of the business for their generous donations of prizes and items for the silent auction. As well a huge thank you to the organizing committee, this event was very well planned and the evening was a tremendous success. We also want to recognize the contribution made by our very dedicated team of volunteers. Everything from food service and bartending to blackjack dealers and coat check was operated by volunteers. Thank you to the community for your continued support of our fundraising efforts. It was our pleasure to be chosen as a reciepient of funds for this annual event and it was a privledge to work so closely with the RCMP officers and staff.
